What is a Coton de Tulear?
The Coton de Tulear, "Royal dog of Madagascar," is a family friendly dog. They are energetic, sweet, and clever. Coton de Tulears love to please their masters and enjoy being a part of the family. They are gentle, easy going dogs. They love playing outside and going on walks with their people. Cotons are quick to pick up on new training and learning new tricks.
The Cotons possess a coat of hair instead of fur and are little to no shed dogs. They have very low dander and are considered hypoallergenic. Even though the breed is new to AKC, Cotons have a long history of unmatched quality and character. Because the breed has been kept pure, Cotons have very few known health problems and a life expectancy of 14-16 years making them even more desirable.
